The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (HR 5587) is a bi-partisan bill which would enhance, reform and reauthorize existing law, the Carl D. Perkins Act. The legislation would address one of the most pressing challenges facing American business: the skilled worker shortage. CRSI is supportive of this federal legislation.
The shortfall in skilled technical workers has made it difficult to meet customer demand in the varied industries equipment distributors serve (construction, mining, agriculture, energy, etc.). Without the workforce in place, the economy lags due to delays with new projects in these fields.
